VAIN Salon
This 1,200 square foot “all the rage” salon is owned and operated by a hip young woman in Denver’s uptown. Her desire was to create the whimsical feeling of Dr. Seuss that was urban yet realistic.
Essentially the existing space was cold, severe and had a challenging layout. After four months the old digs were unrecognizable.
Now the space is artfully inspired with contrasting cools and warms imposing a dynamic appeal. High sensory stimulation is achieved through a variety of finishes such as patterned fabrics, metal, stained concrete, ambient light fixtures and sumptuous velvet curtains.
Metal partitions in-filled with soft fabrics and oversized light fixtures add a sense of intimacy and define the spaces in this open plan. Display units, mirrors and furnishings are simple and bold allowing the energy of the space to be enlivened by vibrant color, layers of materials and textures.
The salon frequently doubles as an art gallery representing many of Denver’s local artists.
